Black Clouds Cover Bright Start for CB3

Share/Save/Bookmark

It was a bright sunny day, southern breeze, fresh paint, new sponsors and fifty three of the best 358 Modified drivers from the Northeast. It seemed like a dream, cue the black clouds and wet rain.

As CB3 and the team looked to start this years 358 Super Dirtcar Series with a win, they began the evening exactly the way they imagined. The Mighty Taco Modified was fast, fast enough to time fourth fastest overall, first in their heat, leading to an eventual heat win that would put CB3 into the redraw. Chad would draw starting position 10, of the 10 available, and then mother nature pulled the plug. The rains came, and despite many attempts to run in the track, the weather was too much for track officials to handle, and with that came an early trip home.

Earlier in the night, the only 3 cars faster in time trials were all less than a one hudredth of a second quicker than CB3 and with a home track advantage and the defence of his track championship to begin, Chad was indeed ready, to take on any and all challengers. However, he will need to carry that enthusiasm with him for a few weeks as the race was re-scheduled to May 18th, and will be half the distance of green flag laps. Fans will be treated to a 50 lap SDS make-up race, and a second 50 lap Lucas Oil Shootout event on the same night. Ticket stubs from April 25th will be honored for a $3 discount on admission, so keep those dry and safe.

On tap this week, are a pair of official season openers at both the Ransomville and Merrittville Speedways friday and saturday, we hope to see you all in victory lane.
