2009 Brings a New Year and a New Diet to Brachmann Racing
It is with utmost respect, gratitude and many successful racing seasons behind them, Brachmann Racing and Original Pizza Logs have mutually decided to part ways. Since the two organizations came together in 2001, Original Pizza Logs owner Bob Cordova has expanded his involvement from the Brachmann Racing Team into a broad-based support in local racing to include sponsorships with many teams, racing classes and events in the area racing circuits. The split comes with no ill will from either party, as Original Pizza Logs are simply shifting their focuses to other aspects of local motorsports. Chad and the entire Brachmann racing team would like to thank Bob Cordova and his elite company for all of their contributions, efforts and support over the past eight seasons, and wish them all the best in business going forward with future endeavors.
This decision comes on the heels of a very successful 2008 campaign for Brachmann Racing, which included an upset so to speak, by capturing the 358-Modified track championship at the popular Thorold, Ontario Canada oval, Merrittville Speedway. The veteran driver earned his 8th career track title through consistency, as the team never saw victory lane at Merrittville, but ran out front on a race to race basis. Checkers did however fly for Chad Brachmann with a win at their Friday night home track, Ransomville Speedway, as well as a pair of wins at Humberstone Speedway in Lucas Oil Shootout events.
The Wheatfield, NY based race team plans on remaining a strong presence across New York State and both Southern and Northern Ontario, despite the current absence of a major sponsor. Events for 2009 will include a defence of the title at Merrittville Speedway on Saturday nights, an assault once again at Ransomville Speedway on Friday nights, as well as the Lucas Oil Shootout Series. Additionally, select DirtCar Series events are on tap, such as the tour stops at Merrittville and Ransomville, plus Super DIRT Week in October.
Driver Chad Brachmann and the team aims to add the entire 358-Modified DirtCar Series to the schedule, however without adequate sponsorship, the team will remain localized. “We definitely will entertain all sponsorship possibilities and opportunities that express interest, and hope to make arrangements for this season and beyond”, stated Chad when asked about sponsorship goals.
By the numbers, during the eight seasons with Original Pizza Logs on the car, Brachmann Racing won three track championships, won 34 feature events, won the “Mr. DIRT” Championship in the Sportsman class in 2001, and has been the runner-up in four of the last six events at the New York State Fairgrounds during Super DIRT Week. Off of the track, the #3 Original Pizza Logs entry has made eight appearances at the Fashion Outlets Racecar Show and three appearances at the CarQuest Motorsports Expo at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
As Brachmann Racing enters its 14th season, the complete tally is up to 8 career track titles, one series championship, and a victory at the NY State Fairgrounds during Super DIRT Week - all with a stunning tally of over 100 feature wins … and counting.
The season will kick off in March, as the Brachmann Racing #3 car will make its first appearance without the Pizza Logger on the side of the car at the New York State Fairgrounds during the CarQuest Motorsports Expo. In previous seasons, the #3 car has represented Ransomville Speedway at the event, however this season, will proudly represent long-time sponsor and friend, RPM Collectables at their display booth.
