7th Is Lucky for Brachmann at Ransomville

Seneca, a roman dramatist, philosopher and politician once said that luck is when preparation meets opportunity, but if you ask any modified driver in the northeast they will tell you winning is based on talent. So, where lies the truth and how would you know the answer if you found it.
Chad Brachmann, the driver known as CB3 has been asking himself that same question for the past two weeks. Two weeks ago, a pair of nasty wrecks left him thinking he was shorted on opportunities, then came a pair of top 3 finishes the following week. This left the six time track champ looking into being just a tad better in his preparation. Now, after looking at this past weekends finishes, Chad Brachmann might be the first driver that has been lead to believe that both preparation and opportunity may just play factors in racing after all, and he just needs some more luck.
Chad drove to a 7th place finish in his Mighty Taco modified Friday night at the Ransomville Speedway after a lens popped out of his new glasses on the first turn of the 30 lap feature. With one eye closed and a blind outside lane to deal with, the Sanborn driver not only took home a top 10 finish, but managed to do so without a single concern to the drivers around him. Preparation? Who saw that coming.
Saturday night at Merrittville, CB3 came in looking for the opportunity to capture his first win this season, however on this evening the track preparation was near perfect, and so that opportunity became equal to all. Chad started the feature 18th after having to run the consolation on a very fast racetrack. Chad began the 35 lap feature bottom feeding and stuck to the guard rail as often as possible to get himself into the top 10. Shortly after, a battle with the veteran Brian Stevens would ensue with the two swapping noses for 4 laps before Brian would take the 6th spot away when Chad ran wide off of turn four and lost momentum. Chad eventually pulled back to the bottom that got him through the field and took home a top ten finish.
The "opportunity" that CB3 was looking for was not to be on Sunday evening either. The Humberstone Speedway point leader pulled into the pit area looking to stretch his point lead. Another opportunity at victory lane would be denied, as a series of showers in the early evening washed away the weekends most promising chance, at a track that has been most kind to him this year.
Which brings us back to the question, is a lucky night one that see's a driver in victory lane or simply just one that brings a top ten finish to a driver that perserveres through 30 laps without any damage to their car or another while seeing only half of what's in front of him.
