Holiday Weekend Gives Many Reasons To Celebrate

Chad Brachmann is a father, a race car driver and team owner. All three are easily respected, admired and even honored from time to time, but this past weekend Chad put all three aside to pay his respects to the men and women who gave and continue to give him the freedom to enjoy the life he has. In turn, Memorial Day gave Chad something good to reflect on. A seat at the top of the Humberstone Speedway points standings.
Friday night at Ransomville, Chad started the feature 12th and while he made adjustment after adjustment throughout the night, He pulled out a 4th place finish with a car that was loose on several occasions. Sat night at Merrittville, a 17th place starting position awaited the former track champ after coming from a consi win just to qualify. "We avoided the big one" was all Chad could say after climbing out of his Mighty Taco modified and a big sigh of relief.
That moment of fortune would eventually propel him to a 2nd place finish behind eventual winner Matt Williamson. Sun night was definately the wild card of the weekend in which Chad started the feature 12th after qualifying heats and worked his way through a tight field to a respectable 4th place finish. This finish, coupled with a 12th place finish by Todd Gordon and a 14th place finish by Mike Bowman now launches Chad into the points lead at Humberstone Speedway, a track that was originally not onthe teams radar for the full season.
All in all, Brachmann Racing had it's own memorable weekend with three top 5 finishes and a points lead to enjoy for it's holiday Monday. Check out your local dirt track this weekend as the team makes it's regular stops at both Ransomville Friday evening and Merrittville Saturday. You bring the family, we'll bring the excitement.
As always, special thanks to Alex and Helen Bruce for the photo.
